summer should feel like summer

We are a no-pressure, non-competitive overnight camp located in Washington, Maine.

No screens. All heart. Ages 7-16.

During the school year, many children experience:

  • Academic pressure

  • Social comparison

  • Competitive sports

  • High expectations

Families often tell us they are looking for a no-pressure summer camp where their child can simply be themselves.

At Med-o-lark, campers experience a calm, supportive sleepaway camp without competition. They explore arts, waterfront activities, nature, and community living in a setting that prioritizes emotional safety and connection.

A no-pressure overnight camp offers something many children deeply need: space to grow without stress.

50+ ActIvities

We offer everything a traditional sleepaway camp offers, but what we do really well is art!

Campers can choose from over 50 different activities such as…jewelry making, stained glass, fashion design, dance, glass making, blacksmithing, woodworking, musical theater, music, candle making and more!

People creating art with colored paper cutouts on a table, using glue, scissors, and markers.

A young girl with long curly brown hair smiling while holding a paint palette and a paintbrush, standing in front of an easel with a colorful painting inside a rustic wooden art studio.
Clothes pins in yellow, green, blue, and red clipped onto a string for hanging pictures or notes, with photographs and printed images hanging in the background.

Each activity is led by passionate artisans who are there to help foster the collaborative spirit we pride ourselves on.

We’ve got more traditional camp activities, too! From swimming to canoeing to tennis to horseback riding, Med-o-lark offers a variety of activities to keep your camper engaged for years to come!
