health care assistants
Support the daily operations of the camp's Health Center by helping manage camper medications, keeping medical records, assisting with basic first aid, and providing compassionate care for campers and staff. Calm, nurturing, organized, and discreet with sensitive information.
What you'll do
Care for campers and staff: Greet visitors with warmth and professionalism, support the nurses with basic first aid and routine care, and help monitor sick campers resting in the Health Center. Offer reassurance, empathy, and confidentiality, especially to campers who are unwell or homesick.
Support medications and records: Help organize and distribute daily medications under the nurse's direction, keep accurate logs of treatments, medications, and visits, and track health forms, allergy information, and emergency contacts.
Keep the Health Center running: Maintain cleanliness and sanitation, keep supplies and equipment organized and stocked, and help with inventory and supply orders. Assist with filing, data entry, and care reports.
Prepare for rounds: Help the nurses get ready for daily medication rounds and first aid needs at activity areas.
Respond to emergencies: Follow all medical and camp emergency protocols, assist nurses calmly and efficiently during injuries or emergencies, and promptly tell leadership about health or safety concerns.
Protect privacy: Maintain confidentiality in all health-related matters.
