Sports

Spotlight on some of our sports offerings:
Fencing Swordplay, a martial art form practiced for centuries, evolved into the modern sport of fencing. At Med-O-Lark, three modern swords, Foil, Sabre and Epee are taught and equipment is provided to campers for all three. The program is designed for campers of all fencing levels. Campers that fence at home may bring and safely store their own equipment.
Horseback Riding
Med-O-Lark offers horseback riding to campers of all abilities. All riding lessons are taught by professional
instructors. The riding program consists of beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels. Campers ride
in groups comprised of eight to ten campers and three to four instructors. Med-O-Lark is home to fifteen
horses of varied levels, and all campers are matched to their own horses on their first day at the stables.
Riding lessons are given in Med-O-Lark's riding ring and on trails throughout the adjoining woods. Ring
work includes instruction in basic, balanced seat equitation as well as in the fundamentals of beginning
jumping and dressage. In addition, campers learn basic grooming, horse care, saddling and tacking up
for the ride. Horseback riding is the only activity at Med-O-Lark that requires pre-registration.
